Codexis Demonstrated Breakthrough in siRNA Synthesis at TIDES USA 2024

At TIDES USA 2024, Codexis presented compelling new data showcasing a major advancement in enzymatic siRNA synthesis. Using its proprietary ECO Synthesis™ platform, the company successfully synthesized a known siRNA oligonucleotide incorporating the most common nucleotide modifications found in approved RNA therapeutics.
The presentation detailed the full enzymatic assembly process—from a starter oligonucleotide through to the addition of a conjugation moiety. This final step prepared the siRNA for attachment of a customer’s proprietary targeting ligand, enabling cell-specific delivery of the therapeutic agent.

Highlights from the Presentation:

• Incorporated RNA bases with modifications commonly used in current siRNA drugs
• Achieved coupling efficiency greater than 98%
• Successfully executed the enzymatic addition of a conjugation moiety
