Mr. Breuil is responsible for all company financial operations, investor relations, information technology and facilities. He joined Codexis in January 2006. Previously, he was Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Corporate Development at Aerogen, Inc. from 2002 to 2005. Aerogen was a publicly traded life sciences company (Nasdaq: AEGN) until its acquisition by Nektar Therapeutics (Nasdaq: NKTR) in late 2005. At Aerogen, Mr. Breuil was responsible for completing numerous strategic transactions, including the private sale of over $35 million in convertible debentures and preferred stock, and, ultimately, the sale of the company to Nektar Therapeutics.

Before joining Aerogen, Mr. Breuil held a number of senior financial management positions at ALZA Corporation (NYSE: AZA) from 1994-2002, most recently as Controller of ALZA Pharmaceuticals. ALZA Corporation was acquired by Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) in 2001, and Mr. Breuil was retained to oversee and facilitate the smooth transition of commercial operations to Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical, McNeil Consumer and Specialty Pharmaceuticals Group and Ortho Biotech. Prior to that, he had responsibilities for strategic planning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and he provided analytical support for the sale of $1 billion in convertible debentures and the portfolio management of over $500 million in drug product development resources.

Mr. Breuil received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1983 and served on active duty as an aviator with the U.S. Navy from 1983-1991. He retired as a Commander from the U.S. Naval Reserve in 2000. He received an MBA degree from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 1993.
