Codexis, Inc. announced today the appointment of Kevin Taylor as Vice President of Business Development. In this role, Mr. Taylor will assume direct responsibility for Codexis’ global sales and marketing organization and execution of the company’s business development activities.
Mr. Taylor joins Codexis from Élan Corporation plc where he held the position of Director of Business Development since May 2001. In this capacity, Mr. Taylor was responsible for a broad range of commercial activities, including technology and product licensing deals, acquisition screening, and joint venture development. Prior to joining Élan, Mr. Taylor was the Business Unit General Manager, North America, for Zeneca’s Life Science Molecules Business Unit. In this role, Mr. Taylor was responsible for directing and managing new business development activities for small molecule and biotechnology opportunities in North America. His focus was on formulating and executing the company’s business strategy which involved providing process development and manufacturing services to the health care industry for a broad range of pharmaceutical products.
From 1993 to 1997, Mr. Taylor served as Sales and Marketing Manager for Cambrex Corporation, directing international sales, marketing and business development activities relating to the development and manufacture of pharmaceutical bulk actives as well as generic, cosmetic and personal care products. Mr. Taylor received his Bachelors of Science in Polymer Science and Chemistry from Pennsylvania State University and his Masters of Science in Management from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
