Michael Knauf Senior Vice President, Bioindustrials

Michael Knauf was named Senior Vice President, Bioindustrials in 2011. He joined Codexis as Vice President and General Manager, Bioindustrials in 2007 from Lallemand Specialties, where he was General Manager of the Ethanol Technology business unit from 2005 to 2007. Previously, he served nearly 20 years with Genencor, where he initially held positions ranging from Applications Chemist to Director of Planning. In the planning role, he managed strategic planning, sales forecasting, and production and logistics planning for the company. After participating in a number of strategic acquisitions that bolstered Genencor’s position in the global industrial enzyme market, he spent ten years managing industrial enzyme businesses as Director, Marketing & Product Management, Americas Grain Processing Enzymes and Director and Industry Manager, Fermentation Alcohol Enzymes. Mr. Knauf holds a B.S in biochemistry and biophysics and a master’s degree in food science from the University of California, Davis.
